Todd M. Sanford Jr.

SANFORD, TODD M. JR. - Of Pleasant Lake, MI, formerly of AuGres, a beloved father, son, brother and friend, Todd passed away December 17, 2008, leaving a life and legacy filled with challenging accomplishments only few courageous men would dare attempt. He was born December 18, 1974 in East Tawas, MI. Todd's exceptional career path began when he enlisted in the National Guard Reserves, continued with several years as a Michigan State Police Trooper, following with the establishment of his success as founder of Hot Toddy Production Company, ending with his current adventure with best friend and confidant, Patrick Colligan, as owners of the popular Jackson Night Club, The Rocket. Todd was a sports fanatic beginning with his involvement in basketball and football at AuGres-Sims, and most recently with softball for the City of Jackson recreation league. His enjoyment of all college and pro sports was second only to his true dedication as a fan for the Detroit Tigers. Todd's love and loyalty to his family began with his forever proud parents, Todd Sanford and Terri Sanford-Nearing; strengthened with the powerful bond of love and trust for his dear sister, Melanie Sanford; his devoted brother, Jeff Sanford; and very much deepened in his relationship to Jakie (Morgan) Sanford; and the birth of his most cherished and adored beautiful daughters, Allison Beth, Molly Maye, and Annaleace Marie. Todd's bright smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed, yet not forgotten by his many family members and friends. He will remain our hero and in our hearts forever. Todd is survived by his immediate family members, including grandmother, Mary Ann (Nan) Dean. Todd was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James (Sandy) Sanford and Charlie Dittenber; grandmother, Dolly Dittenber, dear great-grandmothers, Mary (Grandma) Murphy and Ivy (Gram) Hoollihan; stepfather, Mark Nearing; and cousins, Alyssa Dewald and Jerime Sanford. A Memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, Michigan, with the Reverend Pat Patterson and Bobbe Burke presiding. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Monday from Noon until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to "Family Wishes".
